Orthopedic Trauma Program

Florida Orthopaedic Institute’s trauma specialists provide expert care for patients with severe musculoskeletal injuries, and have consistently offered one of the nation’s top fellowships in orthopedic trauma since 1987.

Our trauma program consists of seven fellowship-trained orthopedic traumatologists who provide emergency room care at Brandon Regional Hospital, St. Joseph’s Hospital and Tampa General Hospital, which is the only Level 1 trauma center in West Florida.

Our trauma specialists are fellowship-trained in musculoskeletal injuries and emergency room coverage and specialize in the care of fractures and fracture-related problems, such as nonunions, malunions, post-traumatic arthritis, deformity correction, bone and joint infections, pelvis/hip reconstruction and foot/ankle reconstruction.

When you have a musculoskeletal injury that requires prompt care, such as a torn Achilles tendon, fractured ligament, or torn rotator cuff, you need to be seen by an orthopedic specialist immediately. At Florida Orthopaedic Institute, our physicians are committed to providing the highest level of care for you in the most efficient and timely manner.

If you have an acute injury and need to be seen immediately, Florida Orthopaedic Institute’s trauma specialists will provide the care you need in a swift manner. Quicker access can mean a quicker return from an injury and less time enduring pain.
