I enjoy being able to stop my patient's pain, restoring function, and improving their quality of life.

Dr. Lopez is a board certified orthopedic surgeon by the American Board of orthopedic surgery. He was born and raised in New York City and attended the City University of New York at Queens College, where he received his undergraduate degree. He received his medical degree from the University of Connecticut and is an avid Husky fan. His surgical internship was at Columbia University, followed by an orthopedic surgery residency at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City, where he served as chief resident. He completed a fellowship in hand and upper extremity surgery at Loma Linda University in California.

Dr. Lopez practices general orthopedic surgery and has a particular interest in hand and upper extremity conditions, including fractures, nerve problems, torn tendons, and cartilage injuries. Dr. Lopez’s philosophy is to avoid surgery except as a last resort – instead using other nonsurgical treatments such as injections. He also uses other types of injections for conditions like Dupuytren’s disease and knee arthritis. For conditions such as Carpal Tunnel, Cubital Tunnel Syndrome, Thumb Basal joint arthritis surgery, Tennis Elbow, and Rotator Cuff problems, he uses arthroscopic surgery or small incision techniques.

Dr. Lopez serves as a clinical instructor for medical students through his volunteer work at Nth dimensions. This is a national organization dedicated to increasing diversity in Orthopedics.

He is a member of multiple medical organizations, including the American Academy of orthopedic surgeons, the Florida Medical Association, American Medical Association, and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

Dr. Lopez enjoys participating in endurance sports such as triathlons and marathons. He has run in both the Boston and the New York City Marathons and competed in several Triathlons. He enjoys spending time with his family traveling, biking, running, and swimming in his spare time.
