Rotator Cuff Repair with Dr. Echols

Rotator cuff tears can manifest in a number of ways. They can sometimes manifest with just chronic unrelenting pain or they can manifest with intermittent pain. It was just a gradual process. I don’t remember an accident or falling, but it got to where I couldn’t lift my arm above my shoulder level and it hurt when I was trying to. So Ms. Pugh ended up having a rotator cuff tear. And when we speak of the rotator cuff, it is actually the tendons that are inserting on this bone here. This being your arm bone or the humerus. Almost exactly a year ago was my surgery.

We were able to repair her rotator cuff arthroscopically. And with that, she was able to once again become pain-free and regained her prior level of function and her quality of life.

Well, I have full range of motion. I can lift my arm, do all kinds of wonderful things. So I feel like it’s been a miracle. You know, I have my plants, I like to sew a lot. I am actually a couch potato. But I loved so, and it’s a lot of handwork and I can do that now. Now I don’t even think about my shoulder. Every once in a while I’ll stop and say, thank you God that it works, you know? I don’t have any twinges or pains or anything and I’m glad to have it done.
