Orthopedic urgent care
Advanced orthopedic care for sudden pain or injuries
Orthopedic urgent care is a specialized, walk-in medical service designed to treat immediate but not life-threatening musculoskeletal injuries. Florida Orthopaedic Institute urgent care is an extension of our regular orthopedic clinic, allowing patients to receive highly specialized treatment more quickly and precisely than at emergency rooms or general urgent care centers.
Our orthopedic urgent care is open Monday through Friday, extended hours Monday through Thursday, and Saturday hours are open by location. Appointments are not necessary; however, you can schedule online, and we welcome patients of all ages.

Benefits of Florida Orthopaedic Institute urgent care
Get specialized treatment for non-life-threatening sudden orthopedic pain or injury at our orthopedic urgent care facilities.
- Immediate orthopedic care – We treat broken bones, strains and sprains, sports injuries, foot or ankle injuries, shoulder injuries, knee injuries, hand or wrist injuries and back pain.
- No appointment necessary – Quicker and less expensive alternative to the hospital emergency room. We welcome walk-ins and you can call ahead to pre-register. Because we are credentialed as a specialist which differs from a traditional urgent care or walk in clinic, HMO patients will require an authorization. Please contact your Primary Care Doctor to obtain a referral prior to your arrival to eliminate any unnecessary wait time.
- Extended hours – Urgent care at Florida Orthopaedic Institute is open nights and on Saturdays for your convenience.
- Specialized care from board-certified orthopedic physicians – Our team of highly skilled, board certified physicians and surgeons has advanced training, which allows the highest standard of care. Patients can see the same physician for follow-ups within the same practice.
- On-site access to leading-edge facilities – We have state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging, including magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), computerized tomography (CT scan), musculoskeletal ultrasound imaging and digital X-rays.
- Treatment options for the whole family – Florida Orthopaedic Institute welcomes patients of all ages with any and all orthopedic concerns.
- Lower cost: In many cases, urgent care is a quicker and less expensive alternative to a hospital emergency room.
- Reduced exposure to infectious diseases – We only treat orthopedic conditions, which don’t spread in the waiting room.

Our orthopedic urgent care is an extension of our regular orthopedic clinic. Traditional urgent care centers and ERs have higher fees, and insurance companies will charge larger copays for those visits. Additionally, wait times are typically much shorter than they would be at a traditional urgent care facility or emergency room.

“After three days of excruciating pain in my hip and lower back, I went to the emergency room. Sat in the waiting room for four and one half hours. I got a referral to Dr. Reza Alavi. Within thirty minutes of taking X-rays he knew what my problem was. He gave me a cortisone injection which eased the pain.” Patient | Spine Pain
