I can not say enough positive things about Dr. Bernasek. He replaced my hip and everything went great. His bedside manner is just wonderful. His PA’s are great too.
Dr. Bernasek takes time to listen and understands my issues, which are somewhat complex. Jessica Ruth, his assistant is outstanding at providing customer service. Would recommend highly.
All I can say is that it was amazing. Very little pain and I am walking a million times better!
Highly recommend Dr. Bernasek for knee and hip replacements! I had a bilateral knee replacement and just had my annual follow up! I can’t tell you how happy I am to be able to live life again! Also a big shout out to PA Brian Yates! Love the boots!
Love Dr. Bernasek and end everyone that I met. Dr. Bernasek explained everything to me and did not rush through anything. He made sure I knew everything that was wrong.
I am 2 weeks post op from my left total hip arthroplasty/replacement. I would have NEVER thought I would be out of the hospital in 2 days! Dr. Bernasek’s approach to the surgery was fantastic. I am so happy with the skill and expertise that Dr. Bernasek has. He has a great team behind him from the nurses, physician assistant Brian, to the fellows and residents at the hospital. I myself am an operating room nurse and I can see that Dr. Bernasek runs a tight ship at Tampa General Hospital! Everyone knows what their job is and they do it with precision, skill, and care. I am doing much better than I ever imagined and I am thankful to Dr. Bernasek for my new hip. And when it comes time for my right hip to be replaced, I know where I will go.
I researched doctors and facilities when I realized that I needed two knee replacements. Researched on the computer, friends experiences, calling offices, etc. led me to Florida Orthopaedic Institute and Dr. Bernasek. My surgery was excellent, actually quite amazing. My knee is good and scars are minimal. I would highly recommend this organization. So much so that my second knee surgery is scheduled in October!
I would like to give major kudos to Jessica, Dr. Bernasek’s assistant. Her caring manner and sweet personality helped to relieve my stress and put me at ease. Each time I called she returned my call in a timely manner and even though that’s her job, she did it with love and humor. What a pleasure to know her. Florida Orthopaedic Institute and Dr. Bernasek should be proud to have her as an asset to their staff. I also work in the medical field so I know what it means to work with heart.
My story is not unique, but I am so grateful for Dr. Bernasek and his staff, that I feel the need to share it! Knee replacement for me was delayed for 30+ years (my choice). All the knee replacement horror stories convinced me that the procedure would be a nightmare. For some reason retiring to Florida in May of 2017 convinced me that my quality of life was important and knee surgery for me was a necessity. At 69 years of age staying mobile and active was important and finding Florida Orthopaedic Institute changed my life! Dr. Bernasek performed my total knee replacement surgery on January 16, 2018. Preparing for the actual date involved incredible scheduling and planning on the part of Dr. Bernasek’s staff and the personnel at Tampa General Hospital, both before and after the procedure. The level of professionalism on all levels provided me with the confidence to move forward. My recovery has been remarkable. As of this date, February 16, 2018, I am walking unassisted and without pain. Bring on the next 30+ years!
The care I have received under Dr. Bernasek has been excellent, far better than I anticipated. I do not dread appointments there, as I do with some other providers. Altogether, a highly professional office!
Dr. Bernasek did my hip replacement. He did a great job. I would recommend him to everybody I know.
Dr. Bernasek replaced both my knees and has been my doctor for over 10 years. All the doctors at FOI are the top in their field. Incredible care, knowledge and experience.
I had a hip replacement with Dr. Bernasek last year. My hip is doing very well. He, as always did a great service for me and others.
On Ocotber 5th, 2004, I had a revised hip replacement at the Tampa General Hospital, Dr. Thomas Bernasek, performed the procedure, I could not asked for the surgery to go any better, he is the best specialist for hip replacement. I recovered fast. It was a blessing to have Dr. Bernasek as my surgeon. I’m always grateful for life with him. I’m able to walk pain free, I can do everything, go to the gym, work, remarried and have a normal life. I don’t even remember that I have a hip replacement, I’m a very active individual nothing stops me. I’m a devoted patient. Thank you Dr. Bernasek for your commitment to your patients and your dedication. Grateful for life.
I am an older athlete with a left hip replacement. I developed calcium deposits in my leg muscles. My hip replacement was not performed by Dr. Bernasek however whenever I feel the calcium deposits in my muscles are bothersome, I call Dr. Bernasek. He has amazing bedside manners and greeted me with a smile and a concern for my pain regardless of the fact he did not do the surgery. He has helped me tremendously get through some painful and frustrating medical challenges with my hip. I actually saw him today and he greeted me with a smile and was thorough to explain my condition. I live approximately 200 miles round trip by car and would never think of going anywhere else again.
There have been times when I have exercised too hard and have annoyed my condition. On many of these occasions I needed help quickly and have spoken with Jessica Ruth, the Medical Assistant. I have been to many medical facilities, one of the best in the country and have never had an opportunity to meet such a dedicated, and patient supportive professional as Jessica. She really cares about patients, new or existing, and I realize that as great as Dr B. is, it takes a supportive team to make the leader GREAT. Without her I am not sure Florida Orthopedic would have the stellar reputation it does and deserves. I do hope her management team of Doctors compensate her properly for all the “Herculean Efforts” she contributes to the Institute. I would also like to single out Maria Rollins. She is another amazing and talented individual who has also helped me when I was in pain and required an appointment. She is so calm, and dedicated to supporting her patients.
In summary, I am blessed to be privileged to have such a reputable and state of the art medical institute just a few hours from me.
Thank you Dr. Bernasek, Jessica, and Maria for all you do.
