About Dr. Stang
Thomas S. Stang, DO, FAAOS, is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon specializing in hip and
knee replacement, fracture care, orthopaedic trauma, and complex reconstructive surgery.
Fellowship-trained in orthopaedic trauma, Dr. Stang combines advanced surgical expertise with a
compassionate, patient-centered approach focused on restoring mobility, relieving pain, and
helping patients return to the lives they enjoy.
Dr. Thomas S. Stang is fellowship-trained in Orthopedic Trauma Surgery and is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery.
As an osteopathic physician, Dr. Stang believes exceptional orthopaedic care begins by treating the
whole person—not simply an injury or an arthritic joint. Every patient receives an individualized
treatment plan designed to restore function while respecting their goals, lifestyle, and overall health.
From routine hip and knee replacement to the most complex fractures and reconstructive
procedures, Dr. Stang is committed to delivering exceptional surgical care with honesty,
compassion, and precision. His practice includes primary and revision hip and knee replacement,
fracture care, orthopaedic trauma, post-traumatic reconstruction, nonunion repair, deformity
correction, and second opinions for complex orthopaedic conditions. Whether caring for a patient
after a traumatic injury or helping someone regain an active lifestyle, he believes every patient
deserves the same care he would want for his own family—honest communication, exceptional
surgical expertise, and an unwavering commitment from the first office visit through recovery.
Before entering medicine, Dr. Stang proudly served 16 years in the United States Army, including
service as a Green Beret in the U.S. Army Special Forces. During five combat deployments, he
earned numerous military honors, including the Purple Heart and two Bronze Stars. The discipline,
leadership, and commitment to excellence developed during his military service continue to shape
the compassionate, meticulous care he provides every patient.
