About Dr. Stang

Dr. Stang is fellowship trained in Orthopedic Trauma surgery and is board eligible by the American Osteopathic Board of Orthopedic Surgery. He was born in Osceola, Wisconsin and to this day is a die-hard Green Bay Packers fan and a shareholder. He enlisted in the Army reserves directly out of high school while pursuing his undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin. After September 11, 2001, he declined his commission and enlisted in the active-duty Army. He moved to Fort Bragg, North Carolina, where he was stationed for over 12 years as a Special Forces Medical Sergeant (18D) with the 3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne). During his tenure with the Special Forces, he served in 5 combat deployments and was honored with, most notably, the Purple Heart and two Bronze Stars, among many other awards and accolades. After serving our country for over 16 distinguished years, he was honorably discharged from the Army and moved to Tennessee, where he continued to pursue his love for medicine. He received his Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine from Lincoln Memorial University in Harrogate, Tennessee. He completed his Orthopaedic Surgery residency at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans. He then moved to Tampa, Florida, where he completed his Orthopaedic Trauma Fellowship at the Florida Orthopaedic Institute at Tampa General Hospital.

Dr. Stang is a member of several organizations, including the Orthopaedic Trauma Association, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and the Florida Orthopaedic Society

As an osteopathic orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Stang takes a holistic approach to patient care, recognizing that all body parts/systems are interconnected, and that the musculoskeletal system is fundamental to wellbeing and quality of life. Dr. Stang focuses on treating orthopedic injuries and fractures of all kinds, primarily due to trauma. He also has an elective orthopedic surgery practice focusing on hip and knee arthroplasty, including state-of-the-art joint replacement, deformity correction, and nonunion repair.

In his spare time, Dr. Stang enjoys spending time with his wife, Lisa, and their two children, Nathan and Sophia. He enjoys activities such as biking, fishing, and hunting. Besides orthopedics and his family, his passion lies in woodworking and home remodeling
