About Dr. Choi

Dr. Choi is a highly skilled orthopedic surgeon with a specialized focus on hand, foot & ankle, and knee replacement surgery. With over 30+ years of experience, Dr. Choi has treated a wide range of conditions affecting the hands and feet, from carpal tunnel syndrome and trigger finger to plantar fasciitis and hammertoes. Dr. Choi also has extensive experience in hips and elbows. Dr. Choi has performed well over 2,000 total knee replacements and was also a design consultant for total knee replacement instrumentation. He has performed over 15,000 hand, foot, and ankle surgeries. 

Dr. Choi was raised in Indianapolis, Indiana where he attended his local public high school. With a graduation class of 325 students, Dr. Choi graduated Valedictorian. Dr. Choi graduated Magna Cum Laude from Indiana University with an undergraduate degree in chemistry and biology. He then received his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine. Dr. Choi completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at the McLaren Regional Medical Center, a Michigan State University training hospital. He has authored and presented numerous articles on orthopedic surgery. Dr. Choi had been in practice of Orthopaedic Surgery in Flint, Michigan and was a clinical instructor in the Orthopaedic Residency training program. He pursued additional fellowship training at Detroit Hand Surgery Group (Detroit, Michigan) and Wayne Foot & Ankle (Warren, Michigan). 

Dr. Choi is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and a member of American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society. Dr. Choi is a consulting physician for the Toronto and Dunedin Blue Jays. Dr. Choi is dedicated to providing compassionate, expert care to all his patients, using the latest techniques and technologies to achieve optimal results. 

In his spare time, Dr. Choi enjoys cooking authentic Korean cuisine, deep sea fishing, skiing, and most importantly, spending time with his grandchildren.
