Doctor Profile: Adam Morse, DO
My name is Adam Morse and I’m with the sports medicine department at the Florida Orthopaedic Institute. I’m an orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports injuries. Medicine was an easy call for me when I was in high school. I was a high school football player. I separated my shoulder and I was out for six months and had reconstructive surgery. Later on. I was in a bad car accident in coming home from the snow skiing vacation and was never going to ski again without reconstructive surgery. Having those experiences made me understand what it was like to want to get back to sports. I mean, I knew firsthand how important it was.
I can’t sit still, it’s against my nature. I’m somewhat of an underwater photographer. I really enjoy doing that. It’s calm, it’s peaceful, it’s relaxing. If I’m feeling a little dare devilish. I really enjoy getting out and kiteboarding. That’s a, it’s probably the biggest rush of anything I do. Once I made the jump that I was going to go into medicine orthopedics was immediately my first choice. I mean, pretty much my only choice in sports medicine specifically was, it’s a different mentality in the patient. They’re working hard. They want to get better. It’s outstanding to see somebody who you know, thinks their career’s over and you’re like, no, no, no, no. Not yet. We can rebuild you. We can make you better.
