About Sandra Kamhoot

Sandra is a board-certified family nurse practitioner with extensive experience in orthopedics and more than 20 years of nursing experience. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Florida and her Master of Science in Nursing, Family Nurse Practitioner, from United States University in San Diego, California. She has completed advanced training in nutrition and functional medicine, including certification in Plant-Based Nutrition from Cornell University and Functional Nutrition with a food-as-medicine approach.

Sandra specializes in the evaluation and treatment of orthopedic conditions affecting the shoulder and knee, including acute injuries, chronic pain, arthritis, tendon and ligament disorders, sports injuries, and postoperative care. Her approach to care is patient-centered and evidence-based, focusing on accurate diagnosis, individualized treatment planning, and the restoration of function. When appropriate, she integrates preventive strategies—including nutrition, exercise, and lifestyle modifications—to support optimal recovery and long-term musculoskeletal health.

Outside of work, Sandra enjoys spending time with her family and staying active. She is an avid Florida Gators fan and enjoys attending football and baseball games. She also enjoys working out at the gym, traveling, hiking, and exploring U.S. national parks. Sandra is the proud mother of two children: her daughter, a Florida State University graduate and Senior Manager of Finance for Holder Construction in Atlanta, and her son, a United States Naval Academy graduate who serves as a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy and pilots the SH-60 Seahawk while stationed in San Diego.
