My name is Thomas Michael Davison. I’m an orthopedic surgeon and affiliated with the Florida Orthopaedic Institute and I’ve been practicing in Florida and Brandon for the past 30 years. Well, I come from a family that has a long history of medicine. My uncle was a physician that had a big influence on me. I thought it was something that I could do. It would stimulate me and give me a very large opportunity to help people. In the past I did spine surgery, I did hand surgery, I did foot surgery, I did children, I did all forms of with orthopedic surgery. But gradually as my career progressed and my practice matured, most of the, I do now joint replacement surgery on hips and knees. I think it gives me very tangible, uh, ability to help people with a specific problem with their help and with their cooperation.
Frequently we’re able to cheer them up the problem and that is very gratifying to me. I still enjoy it. Uh, I am slowing down a little bit to enjoy some of the other aspects of life right now. I play golf. I, um, read some, I’m traveling more. I still enjoy, uh, going to the office. I still enjoy meeting the people. I enjoy the intellectual challenge. Um, I enjoy the people that I work with. Yeah. It’s still something that gets me up in the morning. It makes me want to come to work.
