About Dr. Swiggett
Dr. Samuel J. Swiggett is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in shoulder and elbow conditions. He is currently completing a prestigious fellowship in Orthopedic Surgery at Brown University. Dr. Swiggett has extensive training from Maimonides Medical Center, where he completed both his orthopedic surgery residency and research residency. He holds a Doctor of Medicine from FIU Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine, and a Bachelor of Arts in Biology, with a minor in Economics, from Boston College.
Dr. Swiggett has contributed to numerous peer reviewed publications and presented research at national and international orthopedic conferences. His clinical and research interests focus on improving surgical outcomes for shoulder and elbow procedures, with particular emphasis on conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis and complications in joint replacements. In addition to his clinical expertise, Dr. Swiggett has earned multiple accolades, including the Benjamin A. Alman MD Donor Resident Award from the Southern Orthopedic Association and the Best Resident Abstract from the Maimonides Evening of Research. He is an active member of several professional societies, including the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Society of Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Swiggett enjoys running, skiing, and sailing, as well as traveling and attending concerts.
