About Dr. Rothberg
Dr. Michael Rothberg is a board certified Orthopaedic surgeon specializing in shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand care. He provides both operative and nonoperative options for the entire upper extremity. Amongst many other procedures, he performs shoulder arthroscopies, thumb joint replacements, wrist arthroscopy and reconstruction, endoscopic and open carpal tunnel releases, surgical and office-based trigger finger releases, fracture care and Xia flex injections for Dupuytren’s disease.
He grew up in New Rochelle, New York. Dr. Rothberg graduated Cum Laude from Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts and received his Medical Degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, TX. He did an internship in General Surgery at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas. He completed his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at the Hospital for Joint Diseases, Orthopaedic Institute in New York. Now part of New York University. He then completed a Fellowship at Loma Linda University Medical Center in Hand, Upper Extremity and Microvascular Surgery. He performed an Externship in Rheumatoid Deformities of the Hand at New England Baptist Hospital, in Boston.
Dr. Rothberg is double board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery in both Orthopaedics and Hand Surgery. He is a member of numerous organizations including fellowship in the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the Nalebuff Hand Society, and the Virchel Wood Hand Society. He was Chief of the Orthopaedic section at Morton Plant Hospital from 2006-2014.
Outside of work. Dr. Rothberg enjoys playing and watching most sports, but you can often find him competing on the tennis courts or watching his son participate in professional motorsports. He enjoys good food, family time with his wife and 2 children, and playing with his dog.
