Dr. Luis Pulido is a board-certified and fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon who specializes in hip and knee replacement surgery. Dr. Pulido completed orthopedic surgery residency followed by a fellowship in hip and knee adult reconstruction surgery at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. After completing his joint replacement fellowship, Dr. Pulido received the prestigious Hip Society’s Müller European fellowship award where he learned surgical techniques from Europe’s best surgeons.

I've had an amazing experience as Dr. Pulido's patient! It has been 3 months since my hip replacement and with surgery and physical therapy I've fully recovered with no pain anymore! The clinical staff were extremely friendly and cheerful. Dr Pulido was right on schedule so I was not left waiting at any time during my appointment. I've personally worked with Dr. Paulido twice as a medical employee. Now my hips are wearing down and I have been quite worried as I had a recent hospital stay; I was unable to walk on my left hip. The MRI and CT reports really were disturbing and everyone in the hospital told me that hip replacements were inevitable due to avascular necrosis. Dr. Pulido was my post hospital appointment. He immediately put my mind and heart at ease as he explained the results and set me up immediately for physical therapy. He stated that it was not yet time for hip replacements. Dr. Luis Pulido is amazing what a professional! On July 16th 2024 he performed an anterior right total hip replacement for me. I am 45 years old and my hip was ate up by osteoarthritis so my hip was bone on bone with bone spurs as well as arthritis debris. I was very anxious to have the procedure but I am glad I did. I decided to have the spinal anesthesia. I did feel the bee sting but that was it and don’t remember the rest. West Marion hospital was also amazing to check in to post op! I was released the same day and was able to use a walker to get around my home and in an out of bed with no help. I am excited to start physical therapy tomorrow and continue to recover. I would recommend getting a walker, toilet seat riser, bath tub seat and ice packs.Patient Submitted Review

Dr Pulido did my first hip implant in Jan 2022. Even though he moved to a new practice requiring 90 min drive I would have gone to him 5 hours away. Ready for my next hip implant in Feb 2024. My anxiety is totally gone as I have absolute confidence thst I'll have amazing results this go around as well. I am 70 years old. I was released at week 7, using no aids. I don't even think about having an implant in the first hip. The office knows I reside a bit farther so made it easy that my preop appointment at their office and Marion Hospital are on same date, a hour apart. Very efficient staff. I walked in the office and I was greeted with a very kind and welcoming hello and smile. The staff is awesome. The Dr. was excellent, he really listened to my issue and history (I just moved here from N.Y.). He gave me a shot in the knee (painless). I have to mention, I HATE needles. Can’t say enough about how happy I am having Dr Pulido as my orthopedic surgeon. I first met Dr Pulido to get a second opinion on a hip replacement that got infected. After looking at my history of dealing with the infection, he totally educated me that the infected hip need to be removed, have an antibiotic spacer put in, then once infection was removed, he could put new hip in. Dr Pulido detailed the complete process in terms that I could comprehend and was able to have surgery with total confidence. It’s been three years, and no more problems, very happy!!! UF Orthopedics rocks! Dr. Pulido replaced my left hip just about 4 weeks ago. He and his team did a fantastic job. Did steps a few hours after surgery and was home the same day, I could move my leg laterally to the left immediately. Used the walker for a few days, then transitioned to cane after first week. At week three, walking without cane with little or no pain, and no longer taking Tylenol. Leg is very stable. Been working out since week two. Dr. Pulido replaced my hip almost a year ago. He is excellent. I truly believe my new hip is a miracle. He listens and cares about you. There were complications once the surgery started as there was a muscle tear they weren't expecting. He treated that as well as replacing my hip and I am 100 percent recovered. Dr. Pulido did a partial hip replacement on my 92 year old father. It was an emergency surgery after a fall. The doctor did his job expertly and with authority. I appreciate that after the surgery, he sat with me, the daughter, and reviewed medical decisions he had made. 3 1/2 months later my dad is walking with a rolling walker, playing bridge 3 times a week, and worrying about the UofH Cougars football team.
