About Karen Coy
Karen’s journey in healthcare began at Florida State University, where she earned her undergraduate degree in Biology, followed by completion of her Physician Assistant training at the University of Florida. She later earned her Doctor of Medical Science (DMSc) degree from Northeastern University, further strengthening her expertise in healthcare leadership, patient safety, and evidence-based practice.
Karen works alongside Dr. Deen, specializing in hip and knee reconstructive surgery. She is committed to delivering patient-centered care and believes the best outcomes are achieved through collaboration, education, and trust. Her approach focuses on listening to each patient’s unique concerns, helping them understand their diagnosis and treatment options, and developing individualized care plans that align with their goals and lifestyle. Karen strives to ensure every patient feels informed, respected, and supported throughout their healthcare journey.
Outside of work, Karen enjoys spending time with her active family, including her husband, daughter, and beloved Golden Retriever, Finley. She loves traveling, spending time outdoors, hiking, watching soccer, and relaxing with a good book. Whether at work or at home, Karen values meaningful connections, lifelong learning, and maintaining an active, healthy lifestyle.
