About Javier Gonzalez
Javier is a physician assistant specializing in adult reconstructive orthopedic surgery, with a focus on hip and knee replacement. He earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida before completing a Master of Medical Science in Physician Assistant Studies at Nova Southeastern University.
Before becoming a physician assistant, Javier worked as a personal trainer at Gainesville Health & Fitness, where he discovered how rewarding it was to help people improve their health, build confidence, and achieve goals they once thought were out of reach. That experience shaped his approach to patient care and reinforced the importance of listening, education, and developing realistic treatment plans that fit each person’s lifestyle.
Javier cares for patients experiencing hip and knee arthritis, joint pain, and mobility limitations, helping them navigate both surgical and nonsurgical treatment options. His goal is to understand what matters most to each patient—whether that’s returning to a favorite hobby, keeping up with family, or simply moving without pain. He believes the best outcomes come from working together to develop individualized treatment plans centered on each patient’s goals. Javier strives to make every patient feel heard, informed, and confident throughout their care.
Outside of work, Javier enjoys staying active and spending time outdoors. He enjoys playing volleyball and pickleball, spending time at the beach, hiking, and exploring new places with family and friends. These activities reinforce his appreciation for an active lifestyle and fuel his passion for helping patients regain function, reduce pain, and return to the activities they enjoy most.
