Tampa, Fl.  January 3, 2023

Florida Orthopaedic Institute (FOI) announces new physician, Shaan Mehta, M.D., to the growing practice.

Dr. Mehta is a dual fellowship trained physician specializing in both interventional pain management and non-operative sports medicine. He is board eligible in pain management through the American Board of Interventional Pain Physicians and maintains double board certification in Sports Medicine and Family Medicine.

He received his undergraduate degree at Youngstown State University and his medical degree from Northeast Ohio Medical University. He completed his residency in Family Medicine at the University of South Florida. He then completed a sports medicine and non-operative orthopedics fellowship at Texas Christian University. Following this, he completed an additional fellowship in interventional pain management at the DeukSpine Institute in Orlando, Florida.

Dr. Mehta’s formal training in sports medicine and interventional pain management gives him a unique perspective. His focus is primarily on non-surgical approaches to improve patient function and mobility. He seeks to understand the biomechanical disorders and physical changes that have led to acute and chronic pain patterns. Ultimately, Dr. Mehta’s approach to patient care relies on improving patient quality of life through goal-oriented treatment plans and multidisciplinary care.

Dr. Mehta will be seeing patients at FOI’s Sun City Center and Brandon-Robertson locations.
