FOI’s Dr. Peter Lopez, General Orthopaedics and Hand & Upper Extremity, is currently sponsoring two medical students from Nth Dimensions – an organization focused on diversity in orthopedics.
Nth Dimensions was founded in 2004 by orthopedic surgeons working with academic institutions, community surgeons, and industry to address the lack of women and underrepresented minorities (URMs) in orthopedic surgery. The overall goal of Nth Dimensions is to address and eliminate healthcare disparities for all communities. Their primary mission is to provide resources, expertise, and experience through developing and implementing strategic pipeline initiatives.
Nth Dimensions’ programs include early initial exposure and hands-on experience, clinical and research experience, as well as mentoring and professional development.
The Nth Dimension students sponsored by Dr. Lopez are Nick Thomas (attending Florida State University) and Sebastian Frontera (attending the University of Puerto Rico).
Dr. Lopez is pleased to empower diversity in orthopedics.
