Doctor Profile: Margret Zorc, DO

Dr. Zorc: Hi, I’m Dr. Margaret Zorc, I specialize in Interventional Pain Medicine here at the Florida Orthopedic Institute. I’m originally from Canton, Ohio. I did my undergraduate training at University of Cincinnati and then I did my medical training at Ohio University of Osteopathic Medicine. I came down to Tampa to do my residency training at University of South Florida in Physical Medicine in Rehabilitation and then I did a one-year Fellowship in Pain Management at University of South Florida. The types of conditions that I primarily treat are pain conditions. Typically we are focused on pain in the neck and lower back region but I can also cover painful conditions such as muscular skeletal issues, nerve injury or chronic pain conditions. When a patient comes in with a painful condition I think it is very important to do a thorough history and really get more information about where the pain is and what caused it. What is this pain limiting their life? You know, why is this an issue for them? Because when we’re treating painful conditions it’s really important to understand what the underlying issue is in order to be able to come up with an appropriate treatment plan. It’s very difficult for patients to live with pain. It’s all encompassing, you know limits them from being able to do the things they want to do in life. So, it’s very rewarding to be able to help somebody get back to where they want to be or at least make progress toward, you know, their goals and just improve their overall quality of life. When you come to Florida Orthopedic Institute you’re going to get the best care from the best professionals all under one roof and you really don’t have to go anywhere else to get exceptional care.
