Christine Humienny, Bioinductive Shoulder Implants

My name is Christine. What we like to do, both me and my husband and all is we love to fish. We do a lot of fishing as you could tell, you know, I got fishing stuff all around and all. We just, I’ve always loved the beach, you know, I’ve always liked the light colors of the beach and everything else. I mean, I have things that have shells from just about every beach that I went to that I pick up and all. Well, what I started, what had happened was I just, it was like I just woke up and the pain was there. I didn’t do anything or anything like that. I think it was hereditary, and they had an MRI done on it and they realized that I needed a surgery. I had a large rotator cuff tear, a bunch of small ones. I snapped some tendon, bustles I had spurs and I had arthritis in there. There’s a lot of work you had to clean out when he got done with that and it was with the old surgery that they used to do where they use grafts to patch them up.

Now when it came to the left one, when I was already healed, he had to do the left one also. He had mentioned that there was a new technique coming out that he wanted to try on it. So I let him know, I told Dr. Baker, please go right ahead. You know? So he tried it on me. It took him less time for me to be on, which is a great thing because you really don’t want to be under that long. And it took less time and less pain for it to heal. Then the old one with the grafts.

I had no problem going to the Florida Orthopaedic Institute. Everybody there was nice and I have very good faith and all of the doctors, everything came out great, you know, and it’s a little scar. One little here, two back there. So now matching sets one here and two there. I mean I couldn’t even for a while I couldn’t even pick up a cup of coffee with this hand because you know, that’s how the pain was and everything else and I’m back to being able to do everything that I used to do, which makes me feel good and I don’t have pain doing. Dr. Baker was very good with and he’s the one who does the shoulders and he was very good and I felt very comfortable there. If you have pain, I totally recommend that you have it taken care of because my problem was is I waited too long. I was in the pain and it didn’t, I mean some people get it when they fall or something. You can rip your rotator cuff. That didn’t happen to me. It just happened. But then I think the reason that the tear got bigger, he said a very large tear. I think it was because I didn’t go see him when I should have because I would just put up with the pain and I recommend you have it done because I am pain-free. My hip is pain-free, my right arm is pain-free. This one is just about pain free, so I totally recommend that. If anyone has pain to please go to the Florida Orthopaedic Institute. They know what they’re doing.
