Robert J. Maddalon, M.D., M.S.

I have always enjoyed talking with patients, from high school athletes to retirees, to determine the best and most effective orthopedic care for them.

Dr. Maddalon attended college at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown, where he played varsity basketball. He graduated cum laude and later received a Master of Science degree from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh. Dr. Maddalon graduated from the Medical College of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. He performed his orthopedic surgery training at the Hospital of the Medical College of Pennsylvania.

Today, Dr. Maddalon specializes in total joint replacement and arthroscopic surgery. He has performed hundreds of minimally invasive (mini-incision) hip and knee replacements. Additionally, he performs partial knee replacement surgery with excellent results.

Also, Dr. Maddalon uses the Zimmer gender-specific knee replacement when indicated and computer-assisted surgery in many patients. He also performs the Birmingham Hip Resurfacing procedure in younger patients.

Dr. Maddalon has performed thousands of knee and shoulder arthroscopies as well as hip and knee replacements in the Brandon and Sun City areas since he began practicing in 1985. He is board certified. He has served as the Chief of Surgery and formerly on the Board of Trustees at Brandon Regional Hospital. Currently on the Board of Trustees at South Bay Hospital.

He has served as a team physician for several area high schools, including Bloomingdale, Durant, and Armwood.
