Dr. Billys is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and fellowship trained in spine surgery. He earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Notre Dame and his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia. Dr. Billys completed his internship in general and thoracic surgery as well as his residency in Orthopedic Surgery at the Duke University Medical Center. In addition to his fellowship training in spine surgery, Dr. Billys received a second fellowship in immunology research and a third in hand and micro vascular reconstructive surgery.
Dr. Billys has done extensive research on minimally invasive spine surgery and serves as a Principal Investigator at the Foundation for Orthopaedic Research and Education (FORE) where he is responsible for conducting clinical trials and their outcomes. He continues to do research on degenerative spine conditions and is an affiliate assistant professor at the University of South Florida.
In his spare time, Dr. Billys enjoys spending time with his family.
