Marc P. Hilgers, M.D., PhD, is a Primary Care Sports Medicine physician with experience in providing care to athletes at all levels, from recreational to professional. He received his medical degree and his PhD from Heinrich-Heine-University in Duesseldorf, Germany. He performed two residencies, one in Germany, which included experience in orthopedic surgery, anesthesiology, internal medicine and endocrinology, and the second in Family Medicine in South Bend, Indiana.


He earned his Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship degree at the prestigious Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio. He practices the full spectrum of Primary Care Sports Medicine and also offers alternative treatment options, like acupuncture, Prolo therapy and extracorporeal shock wave therapy. Dr. Hilgers is board-certified in Family Medicine and holds the Certificate of Advanced Qualification in Sports Medicine.


In his spare time, Dr. Hilgers is active in mixed martial arts, including Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Kung Fu San Soo.
