Dr. Steven Barna is a Board Certified, Fellowship-Trained Interventional Pain Physician who specializes in the highest quality conservative and non-surgical minimally invasive spine care,  to maximize a patient's quality of life.  95% of back and neck pain conditions can be treated without surgery.  Dr. Barna focuses on appropriately diagnosing, treating and coordinating multi-disciplinary care for patients with acute and chronic spinal conditions including spinal stenosis, herniated disc and degenerative disc disease. 

Dr. Bernasek is a founding member of Florida Orthopaedic Institute. He received his medical training at the Creighton University College of Medicine in Omaha, Nebraska, and completed his orthopedic residency training at the University of New Mexico. After residency, Dr. Bernasek completed a fellowship in joint replacement and adult reconstruction at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. He is known nationally and internationally as an expert in joint replacement with vast experience in total hip and knee replacement.

Dr. Chan joined Florida Orthopaedic Clinic in August 2010. After receiving his undergraduate degree from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas, he went on to receive a master of science degree from Columbia University, College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York, New York, and his medical degree from the University of Texas at San Antonio. After completing his residency in orthopaedics from The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas in Dallas, Texas, he then completed a fellowship in orthopaedic trauma at Florida Orthopaedic Institute.

H. Wesley Dykes, Jr., D.O., is a board-certified sports medicine physician who has completed a sports medicine fellowship at the Kettering Sports Medicine Center near Dayton, Ohio. During his fellowship, he served as a team physician for professional hockey, baseball and high school football teams, and covered many college and amateur events.

Dr. Garcia joined Florida Orthopaedic Institute in 2009. An undergraduate of the University of Florida at Gainesville, Dr. Garcia received his medical degree from the University of South Florida, College of Medicine in 2003. After completing a residency in orthopedic surgery from Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, Illinois, Dr. Garcia completed a fellowship in hand and upper extremity surgery from Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts.

Dr. Gasser has been with the Florida Orthopaedic Institute since 1993. He attended the University of Maryland School of Medicine and graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1987 as a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. Dr. Gasser completed his orthopaedic residency training at the University of Southern California, and his sports medicine fellowship at the renowned Southern California Center for Sports Medicine. He is board certified in Orthopaedic Surgery by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, and holds an additional subspecialty certification in Sports Medicine.

Dr. Herscovici moved to Tampa in 1991; joining Florida Orthopaedic Institute after completing a six-month AO European Traveling Fellowship and a one-year trauma fellowship at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. In addition to his trauma and posttraumatic reconstruction practice, he is a nationally recognized lecturer in the care of diseases and injuries of the foot and ankle. His continued interest in dealing with problems of the foot and ankle resulted in him being granted a three-month Foot and Ankle fellowship, in Cincinnati, Ohio under G.

Marc P. Hilgers, M.D., PhD, is a Primary Care Sports Medicine physician with experience in providing care to athletes at all levels, from recreational to professional. He received his medical degree and his PhD from Heinrich-Heine-University in Duesseldorf, Germany. He performed two residencies, one in Germany, which included experience in orthopedic surgery, anesthesiology, internal medicine and endocrinology, and the second in Family Medicine in South Bend, Indiana.

Steven T. Lyons, M.D. specializes in joint replacement and adult reconstruction. He was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. He received his undergraduate degree from Loyola University of Chicago and his medical degree from Rush University School of Medicine, also in Chicago. He then completed his residency training at Wayne State University in Michigan, serving as Chief Resident. Dr. Lyons completed a Total Joint Fellowship at the University of Utah with Aaron A. Hofmann, M.D. His interests are in adult, mainly knee and hip replacement.

Michael A. Miranda, D.O.;  M.S. specializes in adult reconstruction hip and knee surgery.  He received his Medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  He performed his surgical internship at the Graduate Hospital, Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia. He completed orthopaedic surgery residency at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.  He is fellowship trained in adult reconstruction at FOI.

H. Claude Sagi, M.D., is board-certified in orthopedic surgery by the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He has completed two years of subspecialty fellowship training in Orthopaedic Traumatology (Florida Orthopaedic Institute/Tampa General Hospital) and Spinal Surgery (SUNY Upstate Medical University, Syracuse).

Jodi A. Shields, M.D., is board-certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation. She attended Northwestern University and the University of Michigan, and completed her medical degree from Loyola Stritch School of Medicine in Chicago. Following residency at the University of Chicago Schwab Rehabilitation Hospital, Dr. Shields has been practicing in Florida since 1994. She has special interest in the rehabilitation of sports-related, soft tissue injuries. She also has extensive experience in Workers' Compensation and pain management. As a physical medicine specialist, Dr.

Jeffrey D. Stone, M.D., specializes in Hand, Wrist, Elbow, Shoulder, and Microsurgery. He was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and received his undergraduate degree from Dartmouth College. He received his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, and completed his residency training at the University of Pittsburgh department of Orthopaedic Surgery, where he also pursued his interest in biomechanics and robotics research.

David T. Watson, M.D., specializes in Orthopedic Trauma and Adult Reconstruction and Arthritis Surgery. He received his Medical degree from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. He performed his Orthopaedic Residency and Internship training at Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. Dr. Watson completed his fellowship training in Adult Reconstruction at Cornell University Hospital for Special Surgery in New York and his fellowship training for Orthopaedic Trauma at Florida Orthopaedic Institute in Tampa, Florida.
